Individual Therapy

Therapy is both an art and a science, a craft where we get to know who you are and what you most want. It's deliberate, thoughtful, and intimate work.

I approach this work in an eclectic way, using attachment theory, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This means we will gently peel back layers of your experience to examine what is driving the worry, fatigue, despair, etc. We will also address the biggest pain points at any given moment and find ways to experience relief, even if incremental. I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to address a wide range of symptoms or concerns associated with traumatic events. This is a powerful, effective, and efficient way to get at all the ways that wounding events can impact our lives on a daily basis.

Areas of focus include:

  • Anxiety

  • Low mood/energy

  • Prenatal/postnatal mood changes

  • Relationship concerns

  • Familial conflict

  • Identity formation*

  • Transitions

  • Parenting support

*A little more about me: I am a White Hispanic, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied woman. It is from this particular experience that I can speak with the most confidence. I am eager to work with anyone on this area with humility, curiosity, and dedication to learning about my own implicit/unconscious biases.
